The rule you already follow
What it asks of an importer
Before approving a foreign supplier, consider its FDA compliance record. When new information appears, reevaluate promptly and write it down. At least every three years, reevaluate anyway.
A summary, not legal advice. The text on the right is verbatim.
“…you must promptly reevaluate the concerns associated with the factors in paragraph (a)(1) of this section when you become aware of new information about these factors, and the reevaluation must be documented.”
21 CFR 1.505(c)(1)Read it on eCFR
The factors include
“whether the foreign supplier is the subject of an FDA warning letter, import alert, or other FDA compliance action related to food safety”
21 CFR 1.505(a)(1)(iii)(B)
SupplierRadar is how you become aware. The dated PDF is how you document it.
We check import alerts every day and the other FDA records every week. When a supplier you watch changes, you get the source and a one-page record for your FSVP file.
How it works
Search by name or FEI, or paste your list. One supplier is free; no card.
What changed, when FDA published it, and the link to the source. Never a score, never an opinion.
21 CFR 1.505(c)(1): reevaluate this supplier promptly and document it.
One page per supplier: what was checked, when, and where each fact came from. You add your decision and sign.
